The Davidson Fellow Scholarship awards extraordinary young people who have completed a significant piece of work in the categories of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Literature, Music, Philosophy and Outside the Box. Deepika was a recipient of a $25,000 scholarship award for her project in the category of engineering. In September she travelled to Washington D.C. where she was honored with they other Fellows, and had the opportunity to meet with New Hampshire Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D) and Kelly Ayotte (R), as well as Congresswoman Ann Kuster (D).
